Human Relationships
Storytelling

Topaz is an Emmy Award–winning writer, director and experience-design architect. He is the founder of The Skin Deep, a studio advancing human connection in the digital age. His work has been featured at Cannes and Sundance, published in The New York Times and Vanity Fair, and honored with two World Press Photo awards for interactive storytelling. He builds transformative experiences across digital media and in-person settings, using each medium to cultivate and deepen human relationships. He studied philosophy at UC Berkeley and Oxford.

In 2015 Topaz launched {THE AND}, a global documentary project that functions as a growing archive of human relationships. It is a record of the emotional and relational truths revealed through conversation. The project spans filmed series, card decks, live experiences, and interactive toolkits. It forms an ecosystem built to enable meaningful dialogue and more resilient relationships. His book 12 Questions for Love (Penguin Random House), distills this practice, rooted in more than 1,200 conversations, into a framework for high-fidelity relational inquiry. It has been translated into five languages.
