Dustin Yellin

Mapping humanity in layers of glass and imagination

Dustin is a Brooklyn-based contemporary artist whose work layers collage, painting, and sculpture to explore the relationship between nature, technology and the human condition. Born in California in 1975 and raised in Colorado, he developed a singular process of embedding thousands of cut-out images between sheets of glass to create three-dimensional “psychogeographic” figures that function as archives of culture. His large-scale glass works, including the ongoing Psychogeographies series, have been exhibited internationally and installed in prominent public spaces, from museums to major architectural developments. In addition to his studio practice, he is the founder and director of Pioneer Works, a multidisciplinary cultural center in Red Hook, Brooklyn, that brings together artists, scientists, and thinkers to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and community. Working across media—sculpture, animation, drawing, and institutional collaboration—Dustin uses richly layered storytelling to offer new ways of seeing interconnectedness in a rapidly changing world.
