Ben Reinhardt currently runs Speculative Technologies, a nonprofit research organization that conducts coordinated research programs to unlock technologies in materials and manufacturing that don’t have a home in other institutions.

He also writes widely on innovation organizations and on the side hosts the Idea Machines Podcast where he does long-form interviews about institutions that turn ideas into outcomes.

In the past he helped teams create companies at Entrepreneur First; worked in San Francisco as a founder, venture capital entrepreneur-in-residence, and systems engineer at a unicorn startup; worked at NASA; and did a PhD in space robotics at Cornell. He's one of a small handful of people with a bachelor of science in history.
