Fawaz is a Kuwaiti-Canadian director and writer working on his feature debut. His shorts have been shown at over thirty festivals around the world including Cannes, Dubai, and Clermont-Ferrand, where he received awards in writing, directing, and audience choice. Fawaz also directs commercials and has short stories published in Nature and the classic Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction.
Fawaz completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto where he earned a BA in history and his MFA in cinematic arts at the University of Southern California. Recently his screenplay in development won the SFFLIM Rainin Grant and was selected to participate in the Sundance Institute Screenwriters Intensive. Further filmography includes To Rest in Peace, Lighthouse, and his upcoming feature Alien Boy.
