Allison is the President, Executive Director, and Researcher at the Foresight Institute, a non-profit organization that supports the development of high-impact technology for the betterment of the future. She directs the Intelligent Cooperation, Molecular Machines, Biotech & Health Extension, Neurotech and Space Groups, Fellowships, and Tech Trees. She founded Existential Hope, a mixed media platform for world-improvement, co-initiated The Longevity Prize to drive progress on longevity, and advises other future-oriented projects.

As an accomplished author Allison writes about creating a framework for human AI cooperation. She co-edited the book Superintelligence: Coordination and Strategy and co-authored Gaming the Future: Intelligent Voluntary Cooperation. Allison earned an MS in Philosophy and Public Policy from the London School of Economics, with a focus on AI Safety, and a BA in philosophy Politics, Economics from York University.
